Bert Blyleven

Bert Blyleven (April 6, 1951 – present) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher who enjoyed one of the most successful careers in baseball history, spanning 22 seasons from 1970 to 1992. Born in Zeist, Netherlands, and raised in California, Blyleven became known for his exceptional curveball and fierce competitiveness on the mound. He played primarily for the Minnesota Twins, also spending time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, and California Angels. Blyleven was a six-time All-Star and won the World Series with the Twins in 1987, contributing crucial pitching performances in the postseason. His 685 career wins place him among the all-time leaders, and his 3,701 strikeouts rank fifth on the all-time list.
