Belinda Stronach (born May 26, 1966) is a Canadian businesswoman, politician, and philanthropist best known for her role in Canadian politics and business. She is the daughter of Frank Stronach, the Austrian-Canadian entrepreneur who founded Magna International, one of the world's largest automotive parts suppliers. Stronach entered politics in 2004, winning a seat in the Canadian House of Commons representing Ontario as a member of the Canadian Alliance. She later crossed the floor to join the Liberal Party in 2005, a politically significant move that attracted considerable media attention. During her political career, she served as Minister of Democratic Reform and later Minister of Labour and Skills Development. Beyond politics, Stronach has been involved in business ventures and philanthropic endeavors, including work with Magna International.
