Aylan Kurdi

Aylan Kurdi (2012–September 2, 2015) was a Syrian Kurdish child whose death in the Mediterranean Sea during an attempt to reach Europe became one of the most iconic images of the 21st century refugee crisis. At just three years old, Aylan drowned along with his mother Rehan and brother Galip when their boat capsized off the Turkish coast near Bodrum.
