Antonietta Meo

Antonietta Meo (1930–1937) was an Italian child whose remarkably spiritual life and early death led to her beatification by the Catholic Church, making her one of the youngest people ever beatified. Born in Rome, Antonietta demonstrated exceptional religious devotion and piety from a very young age, impressing family members, teachers, and clergy with her mature spiritual understanding and commitment to prayer. At age six, she was diagnosed with bone cancer (osteosarcoma), which led to the amputation of her right leg. Rather than despair, Antonietta faced her illness with extraordinary faith and courage, offering her suffering as a sacrifice for the salvation of souls. She continued her religious practices despite severe pain, learning to read and write with her left hand and maintaining her spiritual disciplines.
