Adolphine Fletcher Terry

Adolphine Fletcher Terry (1892–1986) was a pioneering American civil rights activist, philanthropist, and social reformer who dedicated her life to promoting racial integration and social justice in the American South during the Civil Rights Movement. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, to a prominent and wealthy family, Terry used her privileged position and considerable resources to challenge the racial segregation and discrimination endemic to the Jim Crow South.
